What a great tune. I hear echos of 90s Van Morrison (A Night in San Fransisco) when he had Georgie Fame as band leader / on keys.

I've always kinda knew about Reid Genauer (Assembly of Dust, Strangefolk, Railroad Earth). Even seen him in one or two of the bands he has played in over the years. But I'm taking a long listen these days. Lord, he is a great songwriter.

Great songwriter indeed! I search high and low for gorgeous C21st melodies such as those on Honest Hour. The whole album is very fine, my favourite song being the title track. There's some lovely guitar - sounds like a pedal steel.

A couple of other great recent songs I'm never tired of sharing:

Audra Mae: River

Alexander Ebert: Let's Win

I can't tell ya WillCo how much I love this album. It is so, so good. "Speculator" reaches a place few songs do for me.

He drops a little Emily Dickinson in Honest Hour (yet another great tune) > "She kindly stopped for me and she stole my breath".

Was Audra Mae vid shot in Austin?

The Alexander Ebert link did not work.

Been a huge fan for years. He moved out to SF a few years back, but makes it back to the east coast regularly. Caught him last year in a blizzard and within the first I just thought how amazing his band is given that they only play a handful of dates every year. Tight as hell. Now, he blending into the west coast surprise there. Always a good time.
